WARCONICAS
The miniature as it came out of the workshop. Sculpted by hand. Drag it with your mouse or finger to turn it yourself.
Red Hand
Rogmak the Crusher
The orc who defeated Barschaktul with his bare hands
Melee, slashing damage
These values show the current state of development. Warconicas is still being balanced, and numbers can change before the campaign.
Combat profile
What defines Rogmak
- 6.0 Offense, his axe blow lands with raw force
- 6.0 Resilience, no armor, and still he holds
- 3.3 Mobility, a giant, not a runner
- 2.9 Versatility, his game is direct: strike, endure, intimidate
- 3.5 Complexity, easy to play, hard to stop
The combat profile is calculated from the game values and keeps developing with the game. A sixth axis for control and support is in the works.
In battle
What Rogmak can do
Every fight in Warconicas has a rhythm. Abilities are not available at all times, they wake up in certain rounds. Once you know when Rogmak becomes dangerous, you play him differently.
Intimidation of the Red Hand
Captain ability
As long as Rogmak leads the Red Hand team, his enemies hesitate to attack at all.
Orcish Fear, Stun
Rounds 2, 6 and 8
An enemy freezes in fear for a moment and can neither attack nor move.
Tremor of the Red Hand
Rounds 4, 7 and 9
Rogmak slams his axe into the ground, and it shakes beneath every enemy nearby.
The story
The story of Rogmak the Crusher
The Blood Steppe knows no mercy. Only blood and strength decide who stays. Rogmak wears no armor, because he needs none. His skin is his shield, his pain his teacher.
Shaped in the Blood Steppe
In the endless, dusty plains of the Blood Steppe, Rogmak was born on a night when the sky burned blood red and the war drums of the Red Hand shook the land. Even as a child he knew no gentleness, only the law of strength. Whoever was weak died. Whoever was strong took what he wanted.
Rogmak grew into a giant, his body covered in scars. Each one honors a battle survived. He wears no armor, because he looks down on those who need one.
The Trial of the Caves
Among the Red Hand, no one declares a boy a warrior. Once he is old enough, he is taken to the caves and left there alone. He may bring only what he carries on his body. He must face a beast in single combat and defeat it. How he manages that, no one asks afterward. Most come back. Not all.
Something lived in the caves that the tribe had known for generations. They called it Barschaktul. It took hunters, it took livestock, and it took the boys who went to the trial and never returned. When it came too close, the tribe moved on. When it was fed, it came back. That is how the Red Hand lived with it, year after year.
Rogmak went in like everyone before him. What happened in the caves, he never told. When he faced Barschaktul, he had nothing left in his hands. He killed it anyway, with his bare fists.
He came out covered in blood, carrying the skull. He still wears it at his belt today. For the Red Hand, that was more than a passed trial. The boy had done what the whole tribe had avoided its entire life.
From then on, they listened to him.
The weapon
His weapon, a massive war axe, is so large that even seasoned warriors can barely lift it with both hands. Rogmak wields it with one. He slams it into the ground until the ground itself shakes beneath his enemies, a tremor of the Red Hand that breaks bones and tears the courage from hearts.
The chief
To his brothers in war he is a bulwark of raw violence, to his enemies an unstoppable storm. His followers are absolutely loyal. Whoever stood against Rogmak and still lives was lucky.
His people
The Orcs of the Blood Steppe
Korr’Zhul, the War God
The orcs know only one god. They call him Korr’Zhul, the Roaring One, the Fire Skull, the War God. All other gods are nothing to them, ghosts, liars, weaklings. Korr’Zhul is the only one who matters. Everything else is an enemy.
The orcs live in rough clans that often feud with each other and still band together against outside enemies. The law of strength decides who commands and who obeys. Shamanic traditions keep the knowledge of the ancestors alive and grant the warriors supernatural strength. Growing up among orcs, you learn early: weakness is not tolerated, but true strength also means protecting your own brothers.
In the wide, windswept steppes, the Blood Steppe orcs have hunted and fought since time began. They worship strength and speed above all else. Their warriors are trained in mobile combat, their smiths forge light, deadly blades.
A chief of the Blood Steppe has personally defeated every challenger, otherwise he would not be one.

How a draft becomes a figure
Weeks of handwork lie between the first sketch and the finished miniature. These are the stages that came out of it.

The hand behind Rogmak
Sculptor
Stephane
Rogmak is by Stephane. I found him as a freelancer too, and I was happy with his work from the start. But what convinced me most was his character. Open and helpful, that appealed to me right away. On top of that, a wide range of very different designs. That is why I reached out to him for Rogmak.
Even before we talked for the first time, he had already worked out his own ideas. In our conversation he showed me a Rogmak that already looked almost exactly like what I had imagined. I was thrilled right away. From there we could work directly on the figure, I could bring in my own wishes, and Stephane stayed helpful and flexible throughout. Even after the work was done, he stayed just as approachable.
Have a look at his work. And if you need a figure of your own, write to him.
Stephane on InstagramI am an artist and a craftsman myself. That is why it matters to me that the figures are made by people. What someone builds with their hands has a different value to me than what a machine spits out. Art and craft deserve protection.
Warconicas is not a quick product to me, it is a vision. Many more champions are coming. I would like to keep working with Wolf and Stephane, and I also want to give other artists the chance to add their own brushstroke.
